Seated in 20 acres of gardens and vines on the shore of Folsom Lake, this French villa gathers family, friends, and an era of gentler living.
With far-flung loved ones and a flourishing circle, the owners wanted entertaining to be easy, outdoors and in. Fire, water, and verandas twined with wisteria celebrate Sacramento summers, while a wine cave of walnut and limestone and a billiards room with smoking deck enclose sumptuous evenings. Aged olives line a languid drive that winds toward a pigeonaire tower, ancient roof tiles, intricate Italian banisters and artist’s paint, made in the way of the Old World to recall origins and adventures. We brought our best hands to curve wood into sculpture, crafting past into present for timeless rest and togetherness.
