Bardessono

America’s greenest luxury hotel tenders meticulous environmental conservancy with palpably rustic elegance.
Story +

To earn LEED Platinum status, we found materials locally, reducing embodied carbon, and recycled more than 93% of our debris, donating returns to the Bardessonos’ chosen charity. Buttery Tufa limestone from the original estate meets Monterey cypress, salvaged from fallen trees and mottled by weather and time, as rammed earth walls of native soil articulate the beauty of these five acres. Solar panels and deep geothermal wells naturally light, heat and cool guests’ rooms in this contemplative refuge, finished four months ahead of plan.
